FLUE FREE RULES TO REMEMBER

Simple steps to stay healthy this Flu Season:

  1. Get your free flu shot (Influenza Vaccine) every year. Ontario offers free flu (Influenza) vaccine from region and health department community flu clinics, healthcase providers (Family Doctors) and walk-in clinics. Getting your annual flu vaccines is the most important measure to protect against influenzas.
  2. Wash your hands using and water or an alcohol-based hand sanitizer. It is important to wash your hands:
    • After coughing, sneezing, or blowing your nose
    • After shaking hands
    • Before and after eating
    • Before putting in contact lenses
    • Before touching your face
    • After caring for a sick person
  3. Avoid touching your face as much as possible (especially your eyes, nose, and mouth). Remember covid19 rules, rule.
  4. Cough and sneeze into your nose or a tissue. Throw out used tissues and masks right away.
  5. Do not share items that have been in other peoples' mouth, such as toothbrushes, drinks and water bottles, unwashed utensils, cigarettes, lip products and unwashed mouthpieces of musical instruments.
  6. Frequently clean commonly-touched hard surfaces, such as keyboards, doorknobs, countertops, toys, and phones.
  7. Stay home if you are sick. In addition, minimize contact with family members. Staying home will help prevent the spread of infection to co-workers, children and the general public.
